Ryan Worsley began playing the guitar at the age of 10, where he begun studying bass and electric guitar with Chris Madson. His first band, Revelation, was a screaming heavy metal band. At the age of 15 he started studying acoustic and fingerstyle guitar when he joined with Richard Nasr and formed the group Rikkenrhine, an acoustic guitar based folk duo. Out of high, school Ryan continued to study and play many different styles of guitar, from fingerstyle and blues to alt and hard rock.

At the age of 19 Ryan joined the pop rock band Maplewood Lane, and continues to play with them today. Maplewood Lane has been actively playing around the Pacific Northwest and continues to branch out playing shows across Canada and down the west coast of the U.S. The band has reached top ten-radio play lists in the U.S. and Canada, and has had their songs featured on TV shows such as Radio Free Roscoe and films such as Atom Egoyan’s Sabah.

Ryan has also played with the indie rock band The Pale Pacific from Seattle who have toured all over the U.S. and have released 4 albums, the latest to on Sidecho Records and who have had top 10 hits all over the U.S. Currently Ryan also plays in the brit alt rock band Dawntreader, on Anniedale Records.

At Douglas College Ryan studied theory, ear training and sight singing, composition history and piano however, his main focus there was to study Classical Guitar with Michael Strutt, head of the UBC guitar Department, whom he continues to study with today.

Currently Ryan teaches Guitar full time with 50-60 students weekly and also performs classical guitar regularly at weddings, special events and concerts. He also works for the prestigious booking agent Musical Occasions, where he works as a first call classical guitarist.
